October Members Event at Horwitz New Facility!
Please join your fellow members and colleagues on October 22nd at 5pm for a tour of the brand new digs at Horwitz in New Hope and help celebrate their 100 Year Anniversary! Their move was completed in July of 2017 and the larger building now has a large, well equipped fabrication shop, state of the art production areas, high tech demonstration facilities, and really cool meeting spaces. AFE Members and Vendor Members are all invited to see it in person! President Stu McIntosh, Lead Designer Todd Matelski, General Service Manager Robbie Skantz and Maintenance Sales Manager Ann Petrick. Famous Dave's will be catered in and beverages of all types will be served to all who attend. And don't be surprised if a lively game of table shuffleboard breaks out too! You are cordially invited to attend the 19th Vendor Fair & Awards Banquet on November 12, 2018 at Jax Cafe'. This year-end gathering of AFE Members and Vendor Members has been the hallmark event of the year at AFE Twin Cities Chapter 13. Our terrific Vendor Members set up exhibits displaying the latest facility technologies, products, and services available today. Members make their rounds and visit with exhibitors which is an effective way for facility managers to connect with Twin City area facility suppliers.
Following the exhibits, dinner will be served and Jax Cafe’ is once again offering their famous Filet Mignon with Bordelaise Sauce, fresh Broiled Canadian Walleye Pike, and Pistachio Chicken Breast. During dinner, we will be recognizing members and sponsors for their exceptional contributions during 2018. This ceremony has become an honored tradition and affords recipients to be recognized with their peers and a chance to share their reflections of the facilities industry.
Lastly, we conclude the evening with the official Installation of Officers. In accordance with our bylaws, the 2019 AFE Twin Cities Chapter 13 Board of Directors will be introduced and sworn in with a special award presented to the outgoing President.

September Event Recap
Thank you to all who attended our AFE monthly event. We hope you had an enjoyable time and found it educational. For those of you who were unable to attend the event. We went through an educational presentation about stopping corrosion on Fire Sprinkler Systems. This is done by replacing the Oxygen in the system with Nitrogen. Then we were able to see the system in place and how it works shown to us by a Sprinkler Fitter. We look forward to our next event at Horwitz and hope to see you all there. Thanks to Medtronic for hosting and LVC for providing the content.
We are very excited to announce that AFE Twin Cities Chapter 13 is transitioning to a web based Vendor Member Directory. The new directory replaces our 100 page paper based directory, which had been published for about 60 years. It was a good tool for listing Twin Cities Chapter 13 Vendor Members and Chapter 13 organizational information. However it was difficult to take with you and time consuming to look up Facility Suppliers. The new Vendor Member Directory will provide an excellent resource to quickly find Facility Suppliers that support AFE Twin Cities Chapter 13. Vendor Member listings will include a complete list of capabilities, contact information, photos, videos, and social media links. Additionally, Vendor Members can track browse and click information to better understand visitor effectiveness. The new site also automates annual membership renewals.
